About us
We started as a group of people who wanted to be useful. That has not changed — we can simply build more now.
From association to foundation
Asociația Oameni și Fapte began with simple, concrete things: food delivered to a family, a Christmas campaign, transport organised at the right moment. Nothing spectacular — just consistent presence where it was needed.
When the war in Ukraine pushed thousands of people across the border, we did what we knew how to do: we helped more than 400 Ukrainian families reach Romania and find shelter, and later coordinated the delivery of medicine to Brovary Hospital.
Over time we came to see the limit of working that way. One-off help solves the day it arrives, but not the month after. To genuinely change a family’s trajectory you need infrastructure — something that keeps producing results after the volunteers have gone home.
That is where the People and Deeds Foundation came from. The foundation structure lets us hold assets for the long term, build social infrastructure such as the community greenhouses and, just as importantly, fund other organisations that can show results.

How we work
We build, not just distribute
We favour projects that keep producing results after the initial funding ends.
We publish only what we can confirm
We do not round numbers up or present estimates as facts. If a figure is not verified, it does not appear on this site.
Dignity before gratitude
We do not use images or stories that expose beneficiaries in order to attract donations. The people we support do not owe us a story.
We work with communities, not over them
Local authorities, shops, businesses and volunteers are part of the project, not an audience for it.
The areas we work in
The Foundation’s statute covers twelve areas. Each has its own page explaining what we do and why it matters.
